A ROLL OF THE DICE

divisibility · divisibility rules

To understand divisibility rules [CCSS 4.OA.B.4].

A ROLL OF THE DICE is a Grade 4 divisibility activity in which students test whether numbers are divisible by the value rolled on a die. One player or team supplies a number from 10 to 999, and the other decides whether the divisibility claim is true. The changing divisor makes students select the appropriate rule instead of applying the same test repeatedly.

Use it as partner work or a whole-class team game when you want students saying divisibility rules aloud and defending a “divisible” or “not divisible” decision. It gives you quick evidence of which tests students can use confidently. Create a free Find a Math Game account to generate the lesson for A ROLL OF THE DICE.
