Am I In or Out?

addition · divisibility · testing divisibility of 6-digit numbers by sums of dice

To understand the divisibility rules [4.OA.B.4].

Am I In or Out? is a Grade 4 divisibility game that combines six-digit numbers with a changing divisor. Students draw cards to build a six-digit number, roll two dice and add them, then decide whether their number is divisible by that sum. The large numbers make memorized guesswork less useful and push students toward applying divisibility rules deliberately.

Use it with partners or a small group when you want divisibility practice mixed with number building and verbal justification. Have students name the rule they used before declaring whether they are “in” or “out.” Create a free Find a Math Game account to generate the lesson for Am I In or Out?
