Equivalent Fractions

Fraction Trading is a Grade 4 small-group game built around collecting equivalent fractions. Each player starts with a mixed hand and trades cards sight unseen with classmates, trying to assemble all eight cards from one equivalent set. To trade effectively, students have to sort what they already have, recognize which values belong together, and decide which cards they can give away.

Use it when you want equivalent-fraction practice to involve movement, negotiation, and repeated classification. The final set is checked by the group, so students must be able to defend why all eight cards are equivalent. Generate lesson support for Fraction Trading with a free account.
