Half N Half

Half N Half is a fraction-equivalence card game for Grades 6–8 that asks students to build a sequence of target values: one half, one whole, one and one half as a mixed number, and one and one half as an improper fraction. Cards are arranged around a pencil used as the fraction bar, so students repeatedly consider which numerator and denominator combinations produce the required value.

Use it for partner or small-group practice when students are connecting proper fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers, and equivalent forms. The ordered targets make the progression visible and encourage students to compare multiple representations of the same quantity.
