In Your Prime

factors and multiples · divisibility · prime numbers, composite numbers, factors, and divisibility

Distinguish among and find multiples, factors, composites and primes, using numbers 1 to 100 [6.N(NC).3].

In Your Prime is a factors-and-multiples game for Grades 6–8 where students travel from 0 to 100 and back while identifying prime numbers. On each turn, players can use either die, the sum of the dice, or the difference to determine how far to move, then shade the landing number only if it is prime. The choice of move introduces strategy while repeatedly asking students to distinguish primes from composite numbers.

Use it for partner review when students are working with factors, multiples, divisibility, and prime numbers to 100. Ask students to justify why a landing number is prime or composite before shading it. Create a free Find a Math Game account to generate lesson support for In Your Prime.
