Integer Product War

integers · multiplying positive and negative integers

Capture the most cards by having the greater product each round. Students strengthen multiplication facts, sign rules for integers, and comparison skills while having fun.

Integer Product War is a multiplication card game for Grades 6–8 where the greater signed product wins the round. Each player flips two cards, multiplies the values using black as positive and red as negative, says the multiplication sentence aloud, and compares products. The familiar War format adds repeated practice with sign rules and makes comparison especially important when both products are negative.

Use it for partner work once students understand integer multiplication and need fluency. Tied products trigger a War round, adding extra practice without changing the core mathematics.
