Lego Fractions

Lego Fractions is a Grade 3 hands-on fraction activity that uses Lego pieces to model parts of a whole in both flat patterns and stacked fraction towers. Students can compare color sections, count knobs, and describe the same part with different equivalent fractions, such as seeing 2/4 as the same amount as 1/2. The manipulatives make the whole and its parts physically visible.
