Order: Addition

addition · ordering addition facts by sum

Basic addition facts

Order: Addition is a Grade 1 card game where students arrange addition facts by increasing sum. Each player gradually fills an eight-card stand, deciding where each new fact belongs so the totals increase from front to back. Because cards cannot be moved after placement, students have to compare sums and plan ahead rather than simply solve one fact at a time.

Use it in a small group when students are building addition fluency and number-ordering skills together. The hidden card stands add strategy while repeated comparisons keep the math focused on the size of sums. Create a free Find a Math Game account to generate lesson support for Order: Addition. No credit card is required, with 3 lifetime lesson generations.
