Order of Operation Bowling

Order of Operation Bowling is a Grade 5 expression game where four dice provide the numbers for each frame. Students use all four values to build expressions whose results match bowling-pin numbers, applying operations and grouping symbols as needed. The goal is to “knock down” as many different target values as possible before the frame ends.

Use it for partner work when students are practicing numerical expressions and order of operations in a more open-ended format. Comparing different equations for the same target can lead to useful discussion about which operation choices are valid.
