Place Me Here!

number sense · measurement · completing number lines

To complete the number lines [2.MD.B.6].

Place Me Here! is a Grade 2 number-line game for determining where missing numbers belong. Students examine partially labeled number lines, use the spacing and known values to infer the missing positions, and match number cards to the correct locations. The task builds number sense by making students reason about intervals rather than simply count from one.

Use it for partner or small-group practice when students are learning to read number lines and estimate position between known values. Ask students to explain how the spacing helped them decide where a number should go. Create a free Find a Math Game account to generate teacher-ready lesson support for Place Me Here!
