Place the Value

Place the Value is a Grade 5 place-value game for identifying the value of digits in large whole numbers. Players draw six cards to create a number, then use the worksheet prompts to name specific digit positions and values. Because the digits change each turn, students repeatedly connect a digit’s location with its actual value in the number.

Use it for partner or small-group review when students are working with multi-digit whole numbers and powers of ten.
