Place Value High Number Game (Middle School)
place value · Building, comparing, and naming 10-digit numbers
Place Value High Number Game (Middle School) is a Grades 6–8 card game for building, comparing, and naming 10-digit numbers. Players draw cards one at a time and commit each digit to a place-value slot, trying to create the greater number by the end of the round. After all ten positions are filled, students write the completed number in words and compare it with their opponent’s.
Use it for partner work when students need fluency with very large numbers and the value of each digit position. The irreversible placements add strategy and make students think ahead about where high and low digits will matter most.
