Place Value People

Place Value People is a Grade 4 whole-class activity where students physically build large numbers and decimals. Each student holds a digit, comma, or decimal-point card, and the class lines up in the correct order to represent the number that was called. Acting out the number makes the location of digits, commas, and decimal points visible across the room.

Use it when students are learning to read and form large numbers or decimals and need a break from paper-based practice.
