Placemat Equations is a Grade 7 collaborative algebra activity where four students solve separate equations on one shared placemat. Each student shows the steps for one equation, then the group combines the four solutions by adding them into a center total. The teacher checks only the center result, so an incorrect total sends the team back to diagnose which equation needs attention.
