Reflection Symmetry (Symmetry Part 1) is a Grade 4 geometry activity for identifying and testing lines of symmetry. Students draw possible symmetry lines on cut-out figures, then fold the shapes to see whether the two halves match exactly. Comparing curves, rectangles, triangles, and other polygons helps students see that different shapes can have different numbers of symmetry lines.
