T-Ball Division
division · division with remainders using 2-digit or 3-digit dividends and 1-digit divisors
To find quotients and remainders with up to 3-digit dividends and 1-digit divisors
T-Ball Division is a Grade 4 division game where four pitched cards are arranged into a dividend and divisor. Players may build a three-digit or two-digit dividend with a one-digit divisor, then race to find a quotient equal or close to one of the four base values. When the division is not exact, the remainder must also be stated.
Use it in a small group when students are practicing division with remainders and estimating quotient size. The freedom to arrange the cards makes students think strategically about which dividend-divisor combination could hit a target base.
