Time Attack

measurement · elapsed time and end time

To calculate end time using the start time and the elapsed time

Time Attack is a Grade 6 elapsed-time game where students repeatedly adjust a shared clock time using playing-card values. A card can increase or decrease a player’s time by a multiple of 12 minutes, or two cards can be used in a combined move with 9-minute multiples. Every turn requires students to calculate a new time from the current one.

Use it for small-group review when students are comfortable moving forward and backward through time. The game’s changing clock values provide much richer elapsed-time practice than isolated start-and-end questions.
