Visualizing Equivalent Fractions is a Grade 3 paper-folding activity that makes fraction equivalence visible. Students shade one half of a sheet, then fold the same paper into fourths, eighths, and sixteenths and record how many of those smaller parts cover the same shaded amount. The unchanged region shows why 1/2 can also be written as 2/4, 4/8, and 8/16.
