WHO I AM?

number sense · rational numbers · classifying rational and irrational numbers

To identify rational and irrational numbers [8.NS.A.1].

WHO I AM? is a Grade 8 board game for classifying numbers as rational or irrational. Players roll to move, identify the type of number on the landing space, and keep the position only when the classification is correct. Ladders can move a player ahead while incorrect answers send the piece back to the previous position.

Use it for partner or small-group review when students are distinguishing fractions, terminating or repeating decimals, square roots, and other real-number forms. Ask students to justify one classification before the next roll so the reasoning stays visible. Create a free Find a Math Game account to generate teacher-ready lesson support for WHO I AM? No credit card is required, with 3 lifetime lesson generations.
